WHY REBEL?

WITH: ALEX MORENO

Between beats and melodies, Alex crafts stories through sound. For him, being REBEL means breaking rules, challenging conventions, and setting his own rhythm.

D.F: Tell us: who are you and what do you do?

ALEX: I'm Alex Moreno. Drummer, producer, and musical director. I try to make my entire life revolve around music and the industry, with all its ups and downs.

D.F: Why do you consider yourself a Rebel?

ALEX: To step outside the norm and the predictable, you have to be rebellious and push back against trends or what’s already established. Being a musical director means calling musicians, telling each one what to play, setting up a show, creating the setlist with the artist. It’s all about putting together a live performance.

D.F: What projects have you been working on lately?

ALEX: I've just finished producing Amaral's latest album alongside my partner Pablo Fergus. We spent ten months locked in the studio with them, creating, working hard, and learning a lot from incredible artists like Eva and Juan. When you work with masterpieces like the ones they create, and they allow you to experiment—cut, paste, rearrange, make suggestions, and actually listen to you—it’s a real privilege.

D.F: What inspires you to keep creating?

ALEX: What drives me is trying to reach places no one has before and doing something new.
